Problem when launching RB with GPU acceleration on Ubuntu

When I launch RB with GPU acceleration on Ubuntu 22.04 I get PID error XXXX
and no Gazebo environment is loaded. If I launch RB without GPU acceleration all works fine.

Do you have native GPU support? Which GPU do you have on your computer (integrated Intel, nVidia, AMD…)?

Hi, it’s an Nvidia GeForce GT 1030. It works fine with GPU acceleration when using Line Follower environment. But doesn’t seem to work on drone rescue people environment. It’s not an individual problem but a collective one. All 20 PCs in this robotics lab suffer same issue.

Sounds weird. Which Unibotics exercise are you playing with?
Please share the log at the console where you launch the RB. Share also the RB release number you are using.

In addition a screenshot of the web page of the Unibotics exercise will be illustrative too

Hello,

The support for NVIDIA gpus in the Gazebo Harmonic exercises will be available in the next version of the Robotics Backend. For now you can only use Intel and AMD gpus in those exercises.

Thanks

Ok. Thank you for your quick answer.

The new Robotics Backend 4.9.9 has been released

Thank you. I’ll try it

I works fine, thank you. GPU acceleration is working again!
